Subject and Verb Agreement

Ada kalanya kita mengalami kesulitan dan kebingungan untuk menentukan to be dalam suatu kalimat di bahasa Inggris. Apakah to be dalam bentuk tunggal atau jamak yang sebenarnya perlu digunakan dalam suatu kalimat. Berikut adalah ketentuannya:

Subject Taking a Singular Verb

1. Subyek-subyek dengan kata-kata berikut diikuti dengan verb tunggal, yaitu: as well as; along with; accompanied by; together with; in addition to; among.  Contoh: Among Leonardo Da Vinci works is the Monalisa painting.
2. Kata-kata berikut akan diikuti dengan verb tunggal: one, nobody, no one, nothing, each, either, neither, anybody, anyone, anything, somebody, someone, something, every, everybody, everyone, everything.                  Contoh: Nobody was attending the meeting.
3. Kalimat yang diawali dengan it akan diikuti dengan verb tunggal.                 Contoh: It was the raining yesterday.

Subject Taking a Plural Verb

1. Subyek yang dihubungkan oleh kata and atau both … and akan diikuti dengan verb jamak.                                                                                                                             Contoh: Both Anne and Betty were married.
2. Kata-kata berikut akan diikuti dengan verb jamak: several, both, many, few. Contoh: Just few of the audiences are happy with the show.

Subject Taking Either a Singular or a Plural Verb

1. Frase a number of selalu menggunakan verb jamak, sedangkan frase the number of selalu menggunakan verb tunggal.                                                                          Contoh: A number of people were at the reading. The sumber of people at the banquet was amazing.
2. Kata-kata berikut dapat menggunakan verb tunggal maupun jamak tergantung kepada kata benda (noun) yang mengikutinya: none, most, no, half, all, any, some, majority.                                                                                                                    Contoh: The majority of the population has the palm oil plantation.                    The majority of the cars are still using the non-biodegradable resources.
3. Subyek yang dihubungkan dengan kata-kata either … or, neither … nor, atau not only … but also, verb yang mengikutinya bergantung kepada subyek yang terdekat.                                                                                                                                   Contoh: Not only her master but also her mistress was proud of her.                 Not only her mistress but also the literary circles were amazed by her talent.

Berawal dari iseng-iseng cari lagu yang lagi hits, yaitu lagunya ZIGAZ berjudul Sabahat Jadi Cinta. Akhirnya terdampar di youtube.

Setelah puas menikmati video klip-nya, terbersit rasa penasaran untuk bisa mengunduh klip tersebut agar dapat ditonton secara offline bareng-bareng. Tapi rupanya tidak mudah untuk melakukannya, meskipun sudah dengan bantuan perangkat lunak pengunduh file .flv yang biasanya digunakan oleh YouTube.

Akhirnya setelah browsing-2, aku menemukan cara untuk dapat mengunduh file klip YouTube yang telah aku tonton tadi. Berikut langkah-langkahnya:

1. Buka dan tonton sampe selesai terlebih dahulu file di YouTube dengan menggunakan browser (apa yaa bahasa Indonesianya browser..?) Mozilla Firefox.
2. Kemudian ketikkan perintah about:cache?devide=disk di address bar Firefox.
3. Kemudian di browser akan tertampil cache entry information.
4. Klik salah satu file link dengan ukuran file yang terbesar, ato tekan Ctrl+F dan ketikkan saja YouTube.
5. Temukan alamat penyimpanan cache memory di harddisk.
6. Buka Windows Explorer dan pergi ke alamat tersebut.
7. Salin file yang berukuran besar (karena file-file multimedia dari YouTube selalu berukuran besar) ke lokasi lain, dan simpan dengan melakukan rename dan berikan akhiran .avi pada file tersebut.
8. Jadi, dech…

Prosedur Pelayanan Paspor RI

Hari Pertama
1. Isi Formulir Pendaftaran
2. Ambil Nomor Antrian (satu berkas satu nomor, jadi kalo mo masukin lima berkas ya ambil lima nomor antrian)
3. Serahkan berkas ke loket setelah nomor antrian tertera di layar monitor/setelah dipanggil, menyerahkan formulir dan persyaratan pelengkapnya dengan menunjukkan dokumen aslinya
4. Pemohon akan mendapatkan tanda terima dan dimohon datang kembali dua hari kemudian

Hari Ketiga
1. Pengambilan tanda terima permohonan di loket 4
2. Pembayaran (buku paspor, foto, sidik jari) di kasir
3. Pengambilan foto, sidik jari dan wawancara

Hari Ketujuh
1. Pengambilan Paspor di loket 5

Persyaratan Permohonan Paspor RI

PERSYARATAN PERMOHONAN PASPOR RI

I. Paspor Baru
1. Mengisi formulir permohonan secara lengkap dengan huruf cetak dan tinta hitam.
2. Melampirkan asli dan 1 lembar foto kopi:
a. Bukti domisili
i. Bagi Warga Negara Indonesia yang bertempat tinggal di wilayah Indonesia berupa Kartu Tanda Penduduk (KTP) dan Kartu Keluarga (KK) dengan alamat yang sama dan masih berlaku.
ii. Bagi Warga Negara Indonesia yang bertempat tinggal di luar wilayah Indonesia berupa tanda bukti penduduk negara setempat atau buti/ petunjuk/ keterangan lain yang menunjukkan bahwa pemohon bertempat tinggal di negara tersebut, atau bukti telah melakukan kewajiban melaporkan diri di Perwakilan Negara Republik Indonesia.
b. Bukti identitas diri berupa:
i. Akte/Surat Keterangan Kelahiran
ii. Ijazah
iii. Akte Perkawinan/ Surat Nikah/ Surat Baptis
iv. Surat Keterangan lainnya atau dokumen yang dikeluarkan oleh instansi pemerintah
3. Bagi Pegawai Negeri Sipil/Polri/TNI/Karyawan Swasta diperlukan ijin dari instansi bersangkutan.
4. Surat Keputusan Ganti Nama sesuai ketentuan yang berlaku.
5. Bagi anak yang belum berusia 17 tahun melampirkan:
a. KTP orang tua (ayah dan ibu)
b. KK( Kartu Keluarga) anak terdaftar
c. Akta Perkawinan/Surat Nikah Orang Tua
d. Akta Lahir
e. Surat Pernyataan (Ijin) Orang Tua (ditandatangani diatas meterai Rp 6.000,-)
f. Paspor Orang Tua
6. Bagi yang akan bekerja di luar negeri sebagai Tenaga Kerja Indonesia (TKI) melampirkan surat rekomendasi dari Departemen Tenaga Kerja.
7. Bagi Anak Buah Kapal (ABK) melampirkan Buku Pelaut, Daftar Awak Kapal (crew list), Surat Rekomendasi dari Nahkoda atau agen Perusahaan Perkapalan tempat kerja ybs
8. Tidak terdaftar dalam daftar pencegahan.
9. Membayar biaya imigrasi sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku.

II. Penggantian Paspor
1. Paspor Habis Berlaku/Penuh
a. Persyaratan sama dengan permohonan Paspor Baru.
b. Melampirkan Paspor lama.
2. Paspor Hilang/Rusak
a. Melampirkan surat keterangan hilang paspor dari kepolisian setempat bagi yang paspornya bilang.
b. Pemohon melapor ke Bidang Pengawasan dan Penindakan Keimigrasian untuk memberikan keterangan tentang kehilangan atau kerusakan paspor yang dituangkan dalam Berita Acara Pemeriksaan (BAP).
c. Berkas yang bersangkutan akan diteruskan ke Divisi Keimigrasian Kantor Wilayah Departemen Hukum dan HAM untuk mendapatkan keputusan.
d. Keputusan Divisi Keimigrasian dapat berupa persetujuan atau penolakan atau penundaan.
e. Apabila permohonan penggantian disetujui, persyaratan dan proses penyelesaian dapat dilaksanakan seperti permohonan Paspor baru.
